Motorcycle Repair: 1974 HD Sportster highway pegs, hd sportster, automotive shop

I am getting ready to mount higway pegs to a 1974 Sportster and I forgot to order the extended mounting bolts.  Can I just pick these up at a local hardware store or automotive shop or is it better to order them from a cycle supplier?  Also, what size are the extended bolts (length and width).   Thanks

You can just use a bolt from a hardward store. It is nothing special. I cant tell you the size, different hiway pegs use different length bolts. Remove the old bolts and do some measuring to determine the size you need.
