Motorcycle Repair: heavy vibration, kawasaki klr650, ba kennedy

i have a problem of heavy vibration from tick   over to mid range, and full revs,on my kawasaki KLR650 "1988" and dont have a clue what it could be ,its sobad you cant ride bike really at all, ive checked engine  mounts ok,and all other nuts bolts etc throughout the bike , have  now removed engine to begin an investigation into the problem ,,any ideas to this problem would be much appreicated thanks BA kennedy

sounds like a balancer problem.

Check the balancer idler lever (Kawasaki part no. 13168-1436)
and the idler shaft spring (Kawasaki part no. 92144-1860)

These balancer parts keep tension on the balancer chain.
I suspect the idler lever may be broken.
Sometimes the weld lets go and it falls apart.
