Motorcycle Repair: honda shadow carb issue, dynojet stage 1, shadow ace

Question
i have a 98 shadow ace deluxe that we converted to a bobber. i recently replaced the carbs with a different set to use for testing (same issue still occurred)i replaced the original carbs back on the bike. after jetting with a dynojet stage 1 kit using 106 in front and 110 in rear and putting the needle on the 2nd setting i had an issue at high rpm, 3/4- full throttle it would pop. i took the jets out and drilled them with a 1/16 bit moved the needles to the 4th location to richen the mixture. this seemed to help and the bike revs very fast and pop is just at idle now. the bike has custom exhaust and a high flow air cleaner. it runs great at idle with the exception of the pop. i have to turn the screws all the way in the pop goes away. or i have to turn the rear carb out to 6 full turns to get it to go away . also the rear cylinder egt is good with 6 turns and very low all the way in. well after all of this . i lowered the bike and it stands more of a upright position now after a few hours of sitting the carbs will leak into the cylinder and when i try to restart the bike raw full puddles from the exhaust. pull the plugs clean them reinstall and it runs fine. could this be an issue from the angle of the bike while sitting from being lowered. also the other set of carbs did the same thing. this never happened til i lowered the bike. also i have deleted al the vaccuum and emisions on the bike . i really appreciate all and any help. i am stumped . thanks , justin

Answer
The low speed jet in the carb is to small. What you are hearing is known as a lean pop.Increase the low speed until the pooping stops. You should be able to set your ideal adjustment to about 1.5 to 2 turns out for a good idel.As the bike is idling smell the exhaust if it makes your eyes burn this is excess unburned fuel.Replace the needles the little thing that is connected to the float to stop your gas leak.
