Motorcycle Repair: Magna Mixture, dyno jet kit, k n air filter

Question
Jerry,
I bought a Kerker 4 to 1 exhaust system, K &N air filter and Rebuilt/Re Jetted
my cabrs with a Dyno Jet kit and adjusted my pilot screws to there stock
setting. The bike started up great and was allot louder than I though it would
be. I took a ride and it back fired a few times when I let go on the thottle,
Then I noticed the bike was allot LOUDER. Apparently one of those backfires
knocked my baffle out.
If I can re attach the baffle how can I improve the mixture? Am I running
to Lean or too Rich? Also can these modifications somehow effect my cams?
Because I could really hear them now clacking loudly, not like before the
exhaust install.

Thanks so much
Thanks
John

Answer
Your bike is running LEAN This is do to the low speed running out of fuel every so often ( the pop )Increase the low speed jet ONE size and see if it stops. NO Cams or cam timing will NOT be affected by any of the changes.Check and make sure the carbs are not leaking air at the rubber intakes to the head.Again this will case a lean condishtion.
