Motorcycle Repair: EV3030 cam, stock springs, flhs

Question
Hi Mike. I've got another qestion.  On my 91 FLHS, I was told that a EV3030 thunder cam was installed about 300 miles before I bought it.  Now I've been told that this is not a bolt in cam and other allowances should have been made.  I know how to get in touch with the mechanic that put the cam in.  I want to make sure he knew what he was doing.  Can you tell me what other allowances should have been made?  The only other thing I can tell you, is that it has S&S heads.  Also, if these allowances were not made, what cam should I go back with?  thanks.......Bill

Answer
When install a new cam there is really no such thing as a bolt in cam. All cams have to be spaced out os they dont burn the bearing.
Not sure what other allowances you are refering to. the cam you have will work with stock springs and hydrolic lifters.
Good luck and happy riding
Mike
