Motorcycle Repair: Honda 750CB Custom 1981, release lever, clymer

Help!   Just bought my first bike.  Cannot figure out how to get the seat off.  Is it like the hood on a car?  Is their a release lever?   I've been all over my manual and my Clymer and cannot figure it out!  I just bought a brand new battery and can't put it in because the seat is in the way.  Thank you!!!!   :)  DeAnna

If I remember right Their is a place to lock your helmet on the left side of the seat (as you are sitting on the bike)this is also the release for the seat. Turn the key and lift up. Some times they stick so you may have to move the seat around some to get it to release
