Motorcycle Repair: 94 Suzuki Intruder Electrical Problem, amp fuse, solenoid coil

Question
I have never had any problems with my motorcycle until this winter when I wanted to do the occasional start, as in MI it's stored during the winter in our pole building, have never had any problems starting, but we had an unusual damp weather with condensation all over everything in the building. Now when I turn the key on lights, turn signal and horn are fine, but when I go to start it, it blows the 10 amp fuse that protects the fuel pump, ignition system and starter relay.  I have unplugged the fuel pump thinking it may have been the problem, I've taken the safety switch on the clutch apart and cleaned it, I took the starter switch off the handle bar and found no problem with that, I have not taken the switch apart on the kick stand side, I have cleaned and tightened the ends of the battery cables.  It did blow one fuse as soon as I turned the ignition switch on, however it usually doesn't blow the fuse until I try to start the bike, one time it seemed that when I turned the handle bar to the right or left the fuse had blown because the starter would not kick in again.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Answer
Cliff,

-try disconnecting the yellow/green
wire from the starter relay only.

-If it still blows the fuse it may be a short
in that Y/G wire which leads up to the clutch
switch and on to the start button.

-If it does not blow the fuse with the Y/G wire
disconnected it could be a problem with the starter relay
solenoid coil.

-check for any loose connectors, corrosion or
possible rub throughs on the wire harness
especially around the steering and under seat.

Just so you are aware around behind the fuse panel
is a little breaker box with a red and red/white
wire coming out. It might have a red reset
button on it.
Reset it if you have no power and then make sure
your fuses are still okay as well.
