Motorcycle Repair: Replacing stock bars with new custom bars, clutch cable, torque specs

Question
I am going to be replacing the stock drag bars on my 07 Night Train with a t-bar that has an intergrated riser.  I think that I can do the job myself but I am not sure of all the steps that I need to take.  I want to be 100% sure that I have every step before I move into the project.  I do own a service manual and I have been reviewing it for the information but as you know there's not a map in those things that tell you all the steps.  You need to know what exactly to look for or you'll miss a step.  Can you help?  To help expedite the process I will share of the basic knowledge that I do possess.  I plan to replace the cables with steel braided.  Although I am not sure of how to measure the extra length needed.  Bleeding the brakes should be a piece of cake.  The internal wiring and clutch cable replacement/adjustment are probably the things that worry me the most.  Also the torque specs on the bars I am not sure.  I am sure that if you gave me a list of what to do in order I will be able to complete the job and any special tools or notes that are not listed in the manuals.

Answer
Since you are putting the cables in internally, you will first have to remove the gas tank and locate the wire connection and unplug it. You will have to remove the wires from the plug. Make sure you make a diagram so you know where they go back. Remove the old bars and just lay them foward out of the way and install the new ones. Now remove the controls from the old handle bars and install in to the new ones and run the wires through.
the clutch cable needs to be removed, so loosen the adjuster on the cable so you have slack on the cable and remove the handle with the cable. Test fit it on the new bars. That way you can tell if you need a longer cable or not. Once you know that you can remove the trans cover and replace the cable going by the service manual. Do the same thing with the throttle cable. You will also have to test fit the brake line to make sure its long enough.
The torque specs you need are in the service manual and you will not need any special tools.
