Motorcycle Repair: Stater Rectifier Plug leaking, crank case, impact wrench

Question
Mike I read a question about the plug of a stater Rectifier leaking so let me see if I understand whats going on.  The stater plug goes through the crank case and is attached to the stater inside the crankcase and the only way to keep this from leaking if it has started leaking already is to replace the stater and I have to pull alot of stuff to do this.  Okay I am pretty much self inclined and have always fixed my mechanical problems to an extent.  Is this something manageable by a semi experienced guy.  And can you give me any tips on doing this little project.

Answer
You should be able to do the job. You will need an impact wrench to remove the motor sprocket nut and depending on the year bike, you might need a clutch puller.
If you have a service manual that is the best thing to follow. It will take you step by step
Good luck and happy riding
