"Cleaned the carb"... to what extent? Total disassembly, blow out all orifices and jets? You can't let these bikes sit for more than 2 weeks with fuel in the carburetors. #24 is the slow jet (idle jet) and the whole size is .014" approximately. When it is plugged up with old fuel/alcohol residues, the engine will NOT idle at all.

If the plug was black, replace it. You really can't clean fuel fouled spark plugs effectively. It was black from all the running on the choke time.

Make sure there are no air leaks at carb flange O-ring #10 or manifold connections.

If the bike has low hours on it, I suggest you check the valve adjustment, as they tend to close down on these small engines, as they are breaking in. Tight valves reduce the engine compression. If you let the clearance drop down to nothing, it will be harder to start and won't run as well, as it warms up. I don't have specs for this late model machine, but generally the clearances are about .002" Check your owner's manual for exact clearances.

Next time you go riding, drain the carb float bowl before you park it.
