Motorcycle Repair: stator, stator rotor, stators

i have a 87 tour glide , got stator out, it have a flat spot where it touches the magnet, can i send et to a shop to be rebuilt & upgrade to a 38 amp ?

Answer
The stator should not touch the magnets, so you might have a loose magnet. The stators are not rebuildable, just replaceable. If you want to upgrade you will have to change the stator, rotor with the magnets and the regulator. You can buy them as a kit for a upgrade.
