Motorcycle Repair: headlight, flat blade, circumferance

Question
friend of mine wants me to change the headlt bulb on a 92 fxrs , so I hit the books & can't see if it's one piece or if'in I can just change the bulb & have evan called the dealership out here , & they couldn't tell me , just wanted to get the parts before he showed up with the bike , I just work out of my garage

Answer
Hi Bill, There is either a series of rings or one ring that go around the circumferance of the headlight housing. they'll have a small phillips or flat blade screw at the bottom of the ring that you'll need to loosen, NOT remove (good chance you'll loose it, its pretty small) Anyway, once you have the ring/rings removed, you'll see how it all comes apart. Its a pretty simple procedure..

Hope this helps!
