Motorcycle Repair: 2007 Honda SportTrack 400 quad broken clutch, sporttrack, stipulation

Question
When I'm driving in automatic, sometimes it feels like I have no power. I give
it
lots of gas and it slowly starts to go and then speeds up. (Manual works no
problem) My husband took it in to get fixed and they told him that I broke the
clutch by not revving it enough.
I'm taking it too easy and have not put any stress on the clutch, which you
apparently need to do. Have you ever heard of this because it sounds
ridiculous
to me?

Answer
Yes this sounds absolutely ridiculous. There is no manufacturer that will build a machine that has to be "beat on" in automatic. The reason for an automatic quad like this is for beginners for someone that needs a more hands free setup (hunters, yard work, etc). There should be no stipulation  on how you have to ride the quad in automatic.
