Motorcycle Repair: Harley bikes, harley bikes, harley service

Question
I would like to learn how to tool my own Harley. I do not own a bike at this time
and I would like to know which Harley,  year and model I should look into
buying so that I may learn how to repair, modify without having to take a course
somewhere.  
Are Harley's fairly easy to tool?

It depends on how far in depth you want to go with the tooling. The problem you will have is that you need alot of special tools to do certain things. The one tool fits one thing! You best bet is to get a harley service manual on the year bike you are interested in and read it over to see if you have the tools and are capable of doing the work.
