Motorcycle Repair: 1973 Honda CB750 kick start, 1973 honda cb750, last resort

Question
My CB750 motor seized and locked up the kick start. The motor is now free but I cannot kick start the motor as the kicker will only move an 1".

Do I have to remove the motor from the frame and split the cases to repair it?

Thanks for your help!

Answer
Hi,
that doesn't sound good. Have you found the cause for the
engine seizure? It may have done other damage.
To check out the kickstart etc, you have to open the
cover over it and remove the clutch assy.
to see what is binding. The engine may need to be split
depending on what is wrong.
You may have some other seized/damaged parts in the
clutch or transmission.
Do what you can and remove the engine as a last resort.

Luck!
