Motorcycle Repair: tanks, fatbob tanks, sportsters

i have a 96 XLH 1200 and i want to put 5 gal. fat bobs from a 85 softail on the bike what kind of modifications can i expect?

Your going to have to do some modification to the frame to make them work. There are no tabs for the tanks you want to fit. What you will have to do is hole the tanks to the frame and see what tabs you need to make as well as where to place them. They do make fatbob tanks for sportsters that will fit without any changes to the frame
