-----Question-----
I have a problem when accelerating somewhat heavily in 1st and 2nd gear they slip/grind. Do you know what this is and what can I do about it? Just recently purchased this bike but the engine appears to be brand new less than 2500 miles on it. Please help!
-----Answer-----
sam it could be a clutch adjustment but im doubting that ,i think it sounds more to me like a syncronizer for 1st. and second gear going out ,when yur not accelerating hard does it shift o.k. if it does you probably have 2 bad sycronizers in the tranny.or bent shift forks inside the tranny let me know how it does just driving real easy ok. i will do more research for u ok.

Answer
sam,
it is kind of a job you have to remove gears ,the little narrow lookin ones in between the gears are the sycronizers
they are usaully gold.you shoul know if you drain yur oils and see copper looking metal shavings thats the problem let me know if you decide to do the syncronizers i can walk you through it ok
