Motorcycle Repair: gsxr1000k6, axle nut, gsxr1000

hi chris this is a basic question. i adjusted my chain on km k6 gsxr1000, to 25mm slack as per the manual but when i re tighten the axle nut it tightens up even more to 15mm slack ive tried making the slack 35mm to counter act the 10mm loss but it still goes under the required slack,have u any tips

Hi Nic.

Unfortunately, chain adjustment issues, exactly like you are describing happens to everyone for the first few tries.  What it requires is that you tighten the adjustment lockdown nuts, to prevent axle movement during the tightening phase of maintainence.

 It still requires a little finesse and slow tightening and readjustment as you go till you get the knack of it.
