Motorcycle Repair: 85 yamaha 200 BW, new spark, hi chris

Hi Chris My 85 yamaha 200Bw Won't start.I put a new spark plug in and a new coil and it get no spark. Once and awhile it get's a spark.And almost starts. can you help?

Hi Jim.

 Start by checking the ignition circuit for shorts (from power to coil).  Then check the engine stop switch to see if it is working properly.  It could have a bad connection.

Start with that and let me know what you find.
