Motorcycle Repair: yamaha virago 535, yamaha virago 535, needle valves

hi chris
need some help with my virago///hope you can help?
it is a 1992 535,starts and runs for a couple of minutes,then cuts out. then it becomes hard to start again,changed fuel and cleaned air filter and plugs ...checked ht leads for arcing. all seem okay and the problem still persist's,could you help solve the problem ?

Hi Mick.

What do the plugs look like?  Are they fouled?  Burned?  Clean?

Do you smell gas when it quits?

Have you checked the carbs to see if the needle valves are both properly seated?

Start with those and let me know what you find.
