Motorcycle Repair: Fuel line, yamaha xj550, vacuum line

Question
I have a 1982 Yamaha XJ550 that I am trying to get running. I
don't see where the fuel line from the tank connects to the
carburators. Carburator two is the connection for the vacuum
line as far as I can tell. Where do I connect the fuel line from the
tank.

Hi Ron.

 There should be a connection tube between either carbs 1 and 2 or between carbs 2 and 3.  It will be at the middle rear or middle front of the carb area.  The tube will be hard plastic and will be movable.

If in doubt, get the repair manual and in the carb section, there will be a diagram showing the tube.  The vacuum line goes to one of the tubes, usually either #3 or #4 from the manifold between the carb and the head.
