Motorcycle Repair: fluid leak around spark plug, cylinder compression, plug cap

Question
kawasaki zxr750j.plug thread and above, including outside of plug cap, getting wet through with what seems to be petrol,as it is very clear.the plug was slack on first inspection but even after tightening it still seems to leak.have been told it could be too much fuel reaching cylinder.any ideas.cheers,mike...ps.only had bike couple of weeks, fault finding as i go along.

Answer
Hi Mike,

It's possible the head threads or spark plug threads is damaged or defective. Inspect both closely for defects. Try switching or installing another spark plug.

How does engine run?

Perform a cylinder compression and a leak-down check.
