Motorcycle Repair: ignition failure, kawasaki z650, shively

Question
I have a 1977 kawasaki z650 chopper and it is not firing on the outer left hand cylinder, the plug is wet though. The bike runs a straight through exhaust and have bellmouths on the carbs.there is a very slight seeping from the l/h outer carb.there is no spark from the plug.have swapped plugs and caps around to no effect.have clipped a little of the HT lead .the rest of the cylinders fire, though right hand inner plug is sooty.

Answer
Hi Chris,

I suspect the carburetors needs cleaned and tuned to restore correct air-fuel mixtures.

I also suspect a problem with the ignition system. Electrial diagnosis will need to be performed to find the cause of the spark plug failing to arc.

Respectfully,
