Motorcycle Repair: suzuki vz800 clutch, suzuki vz800, clutch basket

I have a 1999 vz800 merauder that I am trying to set the cluth in. It has four inner bolts and four outer bolts on the cluth basket.  I need to know what you set these bolts to. If there is a torque spec can you give this information to me?

Hi Linny,

There's a torque spec for just about every fastener. You'll have to see the service manual for exact torque value of the clutch basket bolts.

Usually, they are between 5-10 lbs., but most techs just tighten them snug (need a tool to remove). A rule of thumb... too tight is broken and loose is not tight enough.
