Motorcycle Repair: plastic moulding repair, kawasaki ninja zx11, plastic moulding

Question
Hello Mike
My apologies if this question is not appropriate. You do indicate "total repair" but the advice I am seeking is not for a Harley but may apply to any bike with plastic molding. (I can't imagine plastic on a Harley - but hey what do I know?)
A tree fell directly in front of my husband yesterday as he drove his 1994 Kawasaki Ninja zx11 home from work on a country road.  It caught him across the chest and arm and pulled him backward off the bike. The bike continued on its own ending up in the ditch.  There are a lot of scratches to polish out - luckily the grass was wet and long.  So finally my question is that the side of the Ninja "what I would call a front quarter panel on a car" is cracked in 3 places about 3-5 inches long. He would like to repair it with a reliable stong adhesive - can you recommend a good product for this?  He wants it to last of course as the bike is in (was in) pristine condition.
Thanks from Canada... where the wind blows strong! (on occasion)
Angela

Answer
What you can do is remove the panels and repair them from the inside with epoxy glue that is made for plastic. Check with your local hardware or auto parts store and they can help you with the selection of what you need.
Good luck and happy riding
Mike
