Start the bike and at the battery tell me what voltage you are getting at around 2000 RPM.

Holds steady at 11.5 yolts at 2000 rpm (bike not fully warmed up)and now that i think about it discharge might occur after continued running/stop starting, if that is relevant.

Answer
Your charging system if not working. You need to test the stator. Do you have a OHM meter and a AC volt meter? If you do, then you can do the test.
Unplug the regulator from the stator and test at the plug of the stator for grounding. Test each prong. Now, start the bike and with a AC volt meter test to see how much voltage the stator is creating. You should be getting around 60 volts at 3000 RPM. If not then the stator is bad. If the stator tests fine then the regulator is bad and needs replaced.
Good luck and happy riding
