Motorcycle Repair: overheating, allexperts, coolant

A friend of mine has a Ninja 1000(not sure what year).It overheats,stalls out and dies when stopped at a traffic light.Changed tranny awhile ago.Any thoughts?

Sorry for the delay in responding to your question. I've tried to reply a few hours after receiving your question. AllExperts servers have been down and not allowing me to send.

From the limited information provided, I suspect air remains in the cooling system and is lowering the boiling temperature of coolant. It's possible that a sensor or thermostat is defective, too, though would need to be verified.

When coolant was replaced, was a tool used to purge air from the cooling system?
