Motorcycle Repair: no spark, honda 300ex, sorry pal

I am working on a 1996 honda 300ex, The problem I am having is I coverted the bike from electric start to kick start it still has the battery set up on it. I have done all the trouble shooting per the manual, and all checks out do I need to use the 250x stator for this set up? Im thinking Im not able to get the motor turning over fast enuff. Ihave only kick it over to check for spark (new motor). Im allso unable to hook up the neutral safty switch the 250x case does not have a neutral safty switch, but I have byepassed the clutch safty switch, bye conecting the wires together.this was done pryer to the rebuild an worked fine. thanks Mike

Hi Mike,

I need to see the wiring diagrams to accurately say what to do. I cannot remember each of those ignition and charging systems from memory. I would also need to see what you've done and what you have. It may be a very simple fix, or something that just won't work.

The crank spins quickly enough on either vehicle. That's not a concern.
