Motorcycle Repair: i need help, honda 200s, air mixture

i have a 1984 honda 200s atc.my friend decided to tear into my carb to clean it and did not have a clue what he was doing.can you tell me how to set the jets and other things so my atc will run again?please help.thank you

Scott.. I really don't have any specifics on ATC200s, as I specialize in older street machines, not ATV and off-road machinery.

There isn't all that much to "set" on these carbs, other than the float level, if the float is not an all plastic unit. Generally, if you turn the carb on its side, the float will be parallel with the body of the carb, with the float tang just touching the needle tip, but not compressing it when the level is correct.

The only specs I have are for the similar 1980 ATC185 and the float level is shown as 12.5mm. Main jet is #92, idle jet is probably around #38 and air mixture screw about 2 turns out from bottomed out. Turn the idle speed screw in until the tip has just touched the slide, raising it very slightly.

Be sure that ALL passages are clear... air and fuel.

Check the WEB for ATC-ATV speciality shops that may have more specifics, if you can't get the specs from your Honda dealer...
