Nissan Repair: 2002 nissan pathfinders iac

Question
QUESTION: my 2002 Nissan pathfinder is idling to fast.i had two machanics look at it,was told I needed to clean the trottlebody,I did that.I aslo did a code relearn and had it checked for vaccum leaks twice.i also put new plugs in.my check engine light is on.I cant afford a lot of repairs that aren't working.dose anyone have a idea what might be wrong.im about to lose my mind

ANSWER: Hi Penney -

I will need to know the OBD (On Board Diagnostic) code that is causing the engine light to illuminate. You will need a special device, Autozone can do that, or any mechanic shop.

Once you give me that, it will tell me what direction to start.

Hope this helps -

QUESTION: I got a code po507

Answer
Hi Penney -

That code relates to the IAC valve. This is usually located below the intake (where your throttle body is) and controls the engine idle via the ECM.

I would tell you to do the re-learn, but it seems you have done that already.

This is a very expensive component, so I would erase the code, then see if it re-appears. If it does with the same code, then the IAC is probably defective.
