Nissan Repair: maxima 2005, turn signal switch, brake light switch

Question
My brake lights do not come on, blow fuses an keep blowing also the car will not go in gear sometimes.

Answer
Hi Debbie -

Looks like you have a direct short in your brake wiring system if the fuse blows immediately. There is a good chance the short is in the turn signal switch, as there are a plethora of circuits that pass through there, including the brake lights. Other than that it could be the brake light switch above your brake pedal. Either way you should take it to a competent mechanic so the wiring system can be checked for shorts.

When you say the car will not go into gear, do you mean the shifter is hard to move, or does it go into gear and the car does not move?

Hope this helps - Aloha
