Nissan Repair: Nissan 1992 Bluebird, instrument panel, speedometer

Hi, our Bluebird speedo doesn't work, it will start halfway through a trip and then stop again, just want to know if its a electrical speedo or does it have a cable and where can I look for it?

Hi Hanna -

The cable connects behind the speedometer. Have to remove the instrument panel and you will see it, there is a snap that you press and the cable housing will pop out. The other side connects to the transmission housing, with a round threaded nut. Inside of that is a plastic gear. Check that because it is the first to wear out. If you are removing the cable, do so from the instrument panel side, carefully with a plier.
