Nissan Repair: 1994 Pathfinder starting problems, bench test, relay switch

Question
I have a 1994 Pathfinder that sometimes will not start. When the key is turned I hear a click from the solenoid area but the starter will not turn over. The battery is good and I have removed the starter and had it tested. It was fine. It has an automatic transmission so the clutch relay switch shouldn't be an issue. Any help would be appreciated to fix this frustrating problem.

Answer
Hi Marcus -

I still think it is the starter. If you are getting power to the solenoid when turning the key (the click you hear) then you know the starter is getting juice.

When the starter was tested, was it under load? Were the amps checked as well? They can pass a "bench" test, but when placed on the car, remember that they have to turn the engine, so there is a huge load difference.

Hope this helps -
