Nissan Repair: 91 nissan sentra, nissan sentra, gas tank

Question
I need to lower the gas tank to replace a rotten  fuel line (gas pours out on top of the tank when the fuel pump is turned on) I've removed the bolts that strap the tank down however I can't lower it enough to see the electrical wires to disconnect them. The wires going to the fuel pump are not long enough to lower the tank all the way down and I don't want to rip them out. Do you have to unplug the wires by feel or does the wire harness unplug inside the body above the tank?

Answer
HI David -

I am not sure, but have you tried checking under the back seat/trunk area to see if there is an access panel for the fuel tank? Some models have that. If not, there should be a harness to unplug near the tank. To a certain point, yes, you have to go by feel.

Hope this helps -
