Nissan Repair: timing belt replacement, timing belt replacement, spark plugs

Question
Hi,
I have a 1999 3.3L pathfinder and just replaced the timing belt, water pump, thermostat, tensioner, alternator belt, A/C belt and power steering belt and spark plugs. If one of my cams is off by one tooth, what would I expect to hear from my engine and would it run rough? I ask as I am not sure if I am hearing a minor tapping sound.
Thanks

Answer
Hi Rob -

Yes, the alignment of the timing belt and all gears is critical. If you are off by one notch, you will experience performance problems, from running rough, no power, to not starting at all. Re-check your alignment.

Hope this helps -
