Nissan Repair: Primera Sport, door latch, clive smith

QUESTION: The drivers door window erfuses to open although the other three do . The problem bagan a few weeks ago when there would be a delay before it opened or closed ,amd the it would stop half way and then start again and finally it has ceased to work altogether.
Any ideas

ANSWER: Hi Clive -

This is usually the window motor. Obviously the driver's side gets used the most so it is the first to fail. Best way to check for sure is to remove the door panel. With the ignition on, operate the window switch and check power coming from it to the motor. If there is power, then the motor is defective.

Hi Clive -

The door panel is removed by taking a putty knife and prying the sides off the door, as it is snapped in. You will also have to remove other items, such as an arm rest, window switch, door latch, etc, in order to take the panel completely off. Some have philips screws at the top.

Once the panel is removed, then you can see the motor.
