Nissan Repair: 03 Maxima, mass airflow sensor, volume supplier

Question
3L V6 A33 135,000 km never missed a beat. After 1 Hour highway drive motor stops while under reasonable acceleration at 100 kph, up medium incline passing lane. Will fire at start then sputters and stops. Normal lights on dash at key turn. Recent routine service and travelled 130km since FULL tank of fuel from regular high volume supplier. What now as no Nissan dealer at country town and AA towie says it has gone into Limp mode. I expected that would allow engine to run.  I suspect fuel blockage but maybe that's being optimistic

Answer
Grant,

I would check for codes since the AA tow fellow says it is in limp mode.  If there are no codes I would look at the fuel pump since you say there are no lights on the dash.  Other than that the other elements that can cause the issue you describe would be the throttle body or the mass airflow sensor.  So, have the fuel pressure checked to make sure you have sufficient pressure.  You will need an adapter since Nissan removed the test port.  nissantechinfo.com is the site that, for a small fee, allows youo to download the service manual.
