Nissan Repair: nissan starter, nissan 4x4, oil and grease

I am removing the starter from a 95 nissan 4X4 pu V6.  All is done except 1 wire with a plastic clip that I cannot figure out how to unhook,  I am about to cut it.....Canyou help me??????

Hi Jeannie -

There should be a little tab you press to disengage it from the starter. If it is full of oil and grease, spray it with some carb cleaner and you should be able to see it. Or you can stick a small screwdriver between the plastic terminal and the metal blade, and that should do it as well.
