i have 2004 nissan murrano.  how do i change serpintine belt and alternator?  i also have oil on alternator.  how can i repair this?

The diagram for the alternator belt is on the sticker on the hood.  It is a matter of loosening the belt center bolt on the adjustment pulley and then the long bolt that applies tension.  Now, remove the alternator.  But, first disconnect the negative battery terminal.  Replacement is the reverse of assembly.  There should be no oil on the alternator.  If there is, inspect where it is coming from and correct the problem.  Probably, there is a valve cover gasket that is in need of replacement.
