Nissan Repair: Clicking sound from tire/wheel?, nissan altima, rear brakes

Question
When driving my '98 Nissan Altima there is sometimes a loud clicking sound from one of my rear tire/wheels. It sounds like I ran over a branch or something and I might be dragging it under the car but I've gotten out and checked and nothing is to be seen. Sometimes if I speed up quickly the clicking sound will go away. I recently had the front left axle replaced and I know my rear brakes need to be replaced soon. Any ideas what might be causing this sound?

Answer
Connie,

The clicking could be a rock wedged in the tire tread.  If not you are looking at a bearing that needs to be replaced or even something wrapped around the drive shaft or axle.  The only way to know for sure is to get the vehicle on a lift and check for debris or things that are not normal.
