Nissan Repair: I35 - transmission fluid change, transmission fluid change, 2002 infiniti i35

Question
Hello. I own a 2002 Infiniti I35, currently have 167K on the clock, bought it used at 114k. Should I just change the transmission fluid or do a full service? I did it at 140K and the previous owner appeared to have done it at least twice per service records. I heard that most Japanese cars only need transmission fluid changes.

Answer
Hi Sean -

The Infinitys use a filter screen that doesn't really get clogged up too quickly. I would follow the manufacturer's specs as stated in the owner's manual, which I think is every 100K, full service. Under more extreme conditions (dusty roads, stop and go traffic, hills, etc) the interval should be less, 60k to 75K miles.

Hope this helps -
aloha
