Nissan Repair: 2000 nissan frontier p/u brakes, replacing brake pads, brake caliper

Question
hi,
my question is this? How do i remove the front rotor after removing the 5 bolts that connect it.

Answer
Hi Pat -

The brake caliper has to be removed next. You may remove the entire caliper by looking back behind the caliper. It will be mounted by 2 bolts to the hub. I think they are 17MM. Remove that, and work the caliper loose.

If you are replacing brake pads, then the piston assy will have to be removed first. The bolts are located on the outside of the caliper assembly, one at the top, and one at the bottom. They should be 14MM. Remove the piston assy, then you can access the pads. To remove the rotor, follow the same instructions in my first paragraph above.

Hope this helps -
