Nissan Repair: IAC valve, nissan 720 pickup, nissan maxima

I have a two part question.  Where is the iac valve on a 1984 Nissan 720 pickup (2.4L Z carb engine) and can I use an iac valve from an 84 nissan maxima with 2.4L engine if I can't find an iac valve for a 720 pickup?

Hi Hobab -

The 2 should be compatible.
The IAC valve is located on the throttle body where the rubber boot meets the intake.

A Quick test to see if the IAC is working properly, is to blow through the tube that goes to the valve. In a cold engine you should be able to blow through, on a hot engine, it should be closed and you cannot blow through it.
