Nissan Repair: 350z Clutch click, lithium grease, clutch pedal

Question
I have a manual 2005 350z and my clutch pedal clicks rarely, only when warm and letting out in first gear.  It sounds like a spring snapping into place. There is no other symptoms other than the click and when it does it, it seams to be close to the same position, 75% out from fully depressed. Any suggestions, I did spay lubricant in the linkage under the dash and I think it helped. Thanks, David

Answer
David,

If the click is under the dash then it is the return spring.  If the noise is coming from under the car you need to look at the clutch release fork and even the throw out bearing.  When you sprayed under the dash what was the lubricant you used?  Something synthetic would work better than WD-40 or the like.  Lithium grease could be used if the bushing on the clutch pedal is dry.  Email me back and let me know.
