Nissan Repair: 2000 Maxima windows/locks/power seats, window switches, control switches

Question
Hello,
Fusible link that handles all of the above keeps blowing. I do hear a clicking under the dash by the steering wheel when I hit the locks button. Factory alarm still works. I had the car washed 2 days before. Any ideas?

Answer
Anthony,

Either the harness has a cut and water is shorting out the circuit or one of the door lock motors or the key cylinder is shorting out.  I would hate to remove all the door panels to look for the problem.  Usually, it is the master window control since water runs into the switch when the door is opened.  I ahve a 2000 Maxima SE and have replaced three master control switches on the driver's door.  You could use compresed air to blow it out and if that fails I would suggest a new driver's door master switch.  It is the one with all the window switches on it.  One screw holds it on and once you pull the plug in the door pull you will see it.  Then, lift up and pull the switch panel up and back to remove it.  courtesyparts.com is where I purchase original Nissan parts to save a buck.  rockauto.com autopartswarehouse.com or partstrain.com are also good sources.  No tax and they deliver to your door.  Just make sure you do not live in the state they have their business in or you get to pay tax.
