Nissan Repair: 1997 nissan maxima clutch replacement, clutch replacement, nissan maxima

Question
i have a guy that will replace my clutch in my maxima (1997) for cheap but the deal breaker is if the engine has to come out? can this be done without removing the engine?

Answer
Ryan,

No need to pull the engine.  If the guy does it for a living he has a fixture that the engine is hung from where the transmission can come out without the engine.  Another way is to jack up the car and support it with stands.  Then, a block of wood under the jack to protect the oil pan on the engine.  And, another to aid with the removal of the transmission.
