Nissan Repair: Turn Signal, nissan xterra, courtesyparts

Hey - can I change the turn signal light myself on a 03 nissan xterra or do i have to take to dealer?

An easy job and the steering wheel does not have to come off to do the job.  rockauto.com or courtesyparts.com are cheap sources for the right switch at about half of what the dealer wants.  Simply reomve the column cover and you will see the screws that hold the switch on.  You do not even have to disconnect the battery.  You will have to remove the trim under the column called the knee boltster to get the column cover off.  Screws are on the bottom side and once removed the cover unsnaps from the top part.
