Nissan Repair: Cant get car to shift into 5th gear, nissan nx 2000, 1992 nissan nx

I have a 1992 Nissan NX 2000, 5 speed manual and it won't shift into 5th gear.  It shifts into all the other gears fine but it doesn't go into 5th it acts like it's trying but goes make it.  Any ideas what could be causing this?

Hi Belinida -

Are you saying that you cannot shift the stick into 5th gear, or can it go into gear, but there is no response from the transmission, like it is slipping?

If it is latter, then the clutch is going out.

Otherwise it could be the 5th gear sync. Meaning a transmission overhaul.
