Does the wheel and cover have to be taken off to replace 2005 maxima pass side headlamp?

Hi Kevin -

I assume you are speaking of the headlamp bulb? If so, normally it is removed from within the engine compartment. If there are any components blocking the back of the headlamp, they will have to be removed and replaced.

The hardest part about replacing this bulb is the access. It is removed from the rear. Open the hood and locate the back of the light where the wires attach. The hold down can be unscrewed and then the assembly can be removed with the light bulb. Notice how it is removed, as it has to be the same way re-installed. Unplug the old lamp and plug in the new (do not touch the lighting surface with your fingers, use a rag or piece of paper when handling the bulb). Replace the socket, and the hold down.
