Nissan Repair: transmission, filter change, mustang

Question
every morning i have to let my car warm up before my car will move.my question is, does that mean that my transmission is going bad or do i need to get it flushed out

Answer
Marilyn,

The fluid could be old and dirty and the filter could be plugging up.  A fluid and filter change is recommended.  If that does not do the trick you know you are looking at a rebuild.  Or, if you can work around the warm up you could leave it until it finally stops working all together.  I once had a 1965 Mustang that the reverse band broke on and I drove it for a couple of months until I could get the money together to repair it.  Borg Warner sold a in car band that I installed and made it work like new.  It was an interesting summer where you parked where you did not have to back out...
